Jackson’s First Birthday Party!!

Today was a good day. It was a nice close to a hectic week. The party was Hawaiian Luau themed. and there were lots of decorations.

Attendees include: Mommy, Joshy, Grandma Valerie & Grandpa Dave, Grandpa Greg & Grandma Esther, Daddy, Auntie Candace & Felicia (candaces mom) & Jordan, Leilani & baby Elija, Julia & Devinn & Nevaeh, Noni & Alex & Marcus & Jasmine.

Yummy Foods Include: Homemade Chili, BBQ chicken sandwiches, veggie trays, fruit salad, feta pasta salad, funfetti cupcakes with homemade whipped cream, butterscotch caramel brownies, and chips and dip.

Im exhausted, I may have to finish this tomorrow…..

So hectic lately…..

Well, I haven’t blogged because its been so crazy lately. Last Saturday night, Jax started getting a fever, Sunday morning, Grandma took his temp, and it was pretty high, and Jax wasn’t feeling himself. So, Tuesday morning, we woke up really early because he was burning up. I took his temp and it was 102.9, and that was 2 hours after he had some ibuprofen, so it must've been pretty high when he got the medicine. later that morning, I took him to the pediatrician. She decided he had Roseola. For the days he had the fever, he was miserable. I could hardly put him down. after the fever broke on Wednesday, he developed a rash covering pretty much his whole body. its not supposed to be uncomfortable in any way for him, so I was happy about that. his attitude improved dramatically. And now that its Saturday night, the rash is pretty much all gone… whew….. anyways that took up the majority of the week including time I needed to do party prep. So as you can imagine, I was a crazy person running around trying to get everything ready for the Luau party…

Jax Is In His Own Room

So…… Today, we moved Jax’s crib in his own room. He fell asleep pretty quickly and easily. We always spend lots of time in there, playing and reading, so he’s in a familiar place. I’m very happy with how his room turned out!

It’s been so hectic lately planning Jax’s party. I haven’t blogged for about week. Jax has been teething really bad lately. Which makes for a tired Mama. Hopefully these teeth come in quickly….

Today, Jax and I just hung out and relaxed a bit. Last night, Jax woke me up because he was clapping in his sleep!!! It was sooo cute!!! I think I fell back asleep before he stopped clapping. After breakfast, we ran some errands, bank, carwash, Target. He took an hour nap and that was it for the day.

Here, Jax was being adventurous and was wandering quite far from me (further than usual). He’s grown an obsession with my flip flops…. Oooohhh Jackson!

Today, Jax has started doing this cute thing with Grandma. He will crawl up to her and when she picks him up, he will rip off/throw her glasses behind him. Then he looks her in the eyes, and then kisses her! Its so adorable! Grandma says its very Rock Hudson. I need to get video of this! I didn’t get a picture of this today, but I will try tomorrow! Here’s Jax’s pic of the day:

Not sure if he’s laughing or ready to cry here, but I love it! Also, Jax’s room is coming along quite nicely. Here’s a pic of the mural grandma is painting:

Footprints

Yesterday we had a WIC appointment, and since it is National Breastfeeding Month, there was a fair, with booths, raffles, and they did footprints. Jax was not a huge fan of the footprinting, but he did really good. Kinda squirmy.

Today, Jax and I went to the mall. We shopped, had lunch, shopped some more, and then left. Last night, I made spaghetti, and Jax had some for the first time! I made wagon wheels in addition to the regular spaghetti noodles, thinking they would be easier for Jax to grab, but it wasn’t necessary. Jax did great with the regular noodles! YAY! And he loved the spaghetti left overs too! He is in the portable chair because I had to wash the highchair cover! It had lots of yogurt on it and I couldn’t bear to look at it any longer.

So after dinner, it was bath time as usual. Just thought we would get a pic of Mommy on here, since I looked halfway decent today. Jax loves bath time! He is so happy when he’s all wrapped up in his towel and still naked. I hope bath time is always this easy for us!

No picture today

Jax was so good today. I noticed 2 more bottom teeth are in today! yay! That might explain all the midnight party jam sessions. So he has 2 teeth on top and 4 teeth on the bottom….. That’s 6 teeth all together, WOW! I forgot to take a picture today. I’ll take one tomorrow, good thing this is our practice month!

Water Table Time

Jax had a great time playing with the water table. The following day, we played with his cousins pool. Jax’s first time playing in the pool. yay! we had so much fun!

Exhausted before bed... Hopefully there wont be any 4am jam sessions.... We'll see....

Climbing

Today Jax climbed up on the couch. He did have the help of a pillow that had fallen to the floor, but it was a small pillow.... Im scared! Now Jax will be climbing everywhere! Eeeeekkk!!

Oh Jackson!

Dear Jackson, Why must you insist on waking up at the booty crack of dawn (4am) and want to play. Granted you weren't screaming or crying, just making it impossible for me to sleep. Not to mention throwing your entire daily schedule out the window.  After pretty much sleeping through the night for 6 months, maybe longer, you feel the need to wake in the middle of the night to party. Please go back to sleeping until at least 6:30. I love you so much and think the world of you, but i'm tired. Hugs and kisses! Love Always, Your Mommy
